Every ray of sunshine put to the best use
synapsus controls solar thermal and makes the most of photovoltaic output. The sun heats first; the heat pump only takes over when needed.
Free heat, always sent to the right function
The collectors heat the domestic hot water, hot tanks and swimming pools. At every moment, the tablet chooses the function that benefits most.
- The most urgent demand first: the tablet heats the most urgent function in demand that the collector exceeds by a sufficient margin. Sun too weak for the hot water? It goes to the pool.
- Priority check: a short pause in circulation regularly checks whether the sun is now strong enough for a more urgent demand, and switches over at once.
- Solar and heat pump without overlap: a function heated by the sun is not served by the heat pump; heat pump back-up comes after an adjustable delay, or immediately if the function becomes urgent.
- Simple wiring: one collector sensor, two valves per function to direct the flow, two shared outputs for the circuit pump.
- Visible at a glance: collector temperature on its tile, ☀ on the tile of the function being heated.

Surplus electricity stored as heat
Rather than exporting the surplus to the grid, the tablet uses it to raise the temperature of the hot water, a hot tank or the swimming pool. Water stored hotter means solar electricity consumed on site.
- Available power measured by a Modbus electricity meter, or given by up to 4 inverter contacts.
- 4 stages: at each power threshold, the setpoint of a function is raised by a bonus, never exceeding its maximum. Example: hot water at 1.5 kW, then the pool at 3 kW.
- Unaffected by passing clouds: activation and deactivation delays, power hysteresis.
- Always safe: if a meter or contact fails, the stages stop, setpoints return to normal and the log records it.
- Also for wind, hydro and generator sets: the same principle applies to any local source of electricity.

Sun, heat pump and back-up, each in its place
1. The sun
It is free, so it comes first: solar thermal heats directly, and surplus photovoltaic power raises the setpoints.
2. The heat pump
It tops up at just the right speed, respecting the priorities between zones, tanks, hot water and pool.
3. Back-up heating
Electric heater or boiler only step in if the heat pump can no longer cope, after an adjustable delay.
Energy produced and consumed is counted per day and per month, for the heat pump and for the functions, using the tablet's electrical and thermal energy meters.
